Bob Bland

Staff Writer
Picture
Bob is a staff writer for SDI, and likely will be the first on staff to become eligible for AARP, given his advanced age.  He is a native Texan who was born in Galveston and raised in San Marcos.  Bob spent most of his youth as a die-hard Houston Astros fan, having spent so much time visiting family on the Gulf Coast.  He still feels the pain of the Astros' playoff losses in 1980 and '86, in what he claims to this day are the two greatest NLCS ever played.  Since moving to the Metroplex in '94, Bob quickly (and correctly) switched allegiances and became a hardcore Texas Rangers fan.  He lived and worked in Arlington during the Rangers' glorious first run of playoff appearances in the mid-to-late-'90s.  Bob loves sports, music, movies and TV - all of which he periodically discusses on his blog,  the appropriately-named bobhasablog.com
